Every Christmas, our family makes some holiday cookies and other sweet treats to give away as gifts.   While many of our friends and family eat healthy like we do, other members of our family do not.  You

may not know how to handle this situation.   What we do is pick healthy recipes that are so tasty that most people would not even guess they are made only from healthy ingredients.  We get rave reviews on our gifts and it is a win-win for everyone.   So, here is how we do it:

This year, we got a little creative.  We bought some beautiful boxes by Martha Stewart Crafts from our local arts and crafts store.   We baked some of our favorite cookies…. the Almond Cookies from Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon.   They are gluten-free (almond flour and arrowroot powder)  and are absolutely delicious.

Next, we made some of the Date Candies and Raw Chocolate Cups from my Vibrant Health cookbook.    For a little variety,  we put some homemade granola in some plastic wrap and tied it with a pretty red ribbon.   A fresh mandarin orange or clementine works beautifully to fill in any gaps if you run out of other items.

I hope this helps you see that you can make healthy holiday treats that everyone will love.   And you can rest assured knowing that these healthy goodies will not weaken their immune system like the sugar-laden cookies that are everywhere this time of year.

Here is our finished box, ready to go:

I hope you have a wonderful holiday and that this gives you some creative ideas for healthy Christmas gifts that you can give to your loved ones.
